RACE PREVIEW: New Hampshire Motor Speedway
NASCAR is headed north! The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) will compete at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend in a 301-lap event around the “Magic Mile.” This will be Ty Dillon’s fourth MENCS start at the one-mile track. All of his previous starts have been with the GEICO Racing team, and this year Germain Racing will take the No. 13 GEICO Military Camaro ZL1 on the trip.
Short tracks have been the highlight of Germain Racing’s 2019 season. Dillon scored top-15 finishes earlier this year at ISM Raceway, Martinsville Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway. He also won a stage at Bristol, earning his and the team’s first-ever stage win.
Honor and Remember
This week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Germain Racing will honor Private First Class Dale Bremerman of the United States Marine Corps. He was killed in action during the Vietnam War on March 1, 1967, in the Quang Ngai province of South Vietnam through hostile action at the age of 19. PFC Bremerman was honored with the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.
Germain Racing’s general manger, Larry Rogers, knew PFC Bremerman as they shared the same small hometown of Naples, Florida, while growing up. Rogers was a student in the soldier’s mother’s biology class at the time of his death and remembers the sadness shared with the family by the students and community.
Germain Racing is honored to have PFC Bremerman ride along with Dillon in Sunday’s race.
Dillon Weekend Chatter
What are you expecting with the new rules package at New Hampshire Motor Speedway?
“I think it’s going to be incredibly fast, especially with all of the downforce and the motor. New Hampshire is a place that our GEICO Military team has circled pretty boldly on our calendar. We have really made great gains on our-short track program with this new rules package and have been very successful this year. So, going back to Loudon and running the new downforce package in this setting is pretty exciting. We’re looking forward to having a really strong run this weekend.”
