RACE PREVIEW: All-Star Weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Speedweeks at Charlotte Motor Speedway have arrived! For the Germain Racing team, this means the return of the GEICO Military gecko to the hood of the No. 13 Camaro ZL1. This will be the first of five races this season in which Ty Dillon will run the “geckoflage” paint scheme.

To qualify for Saturday night’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) All-Star Race, Dillon must first compete in the MENCS Open race. All drivers that did not win a race in 2018 or 2019 and are not a previous series champion or All-Star Race winner must earn their way into the race by winning one of the three stages of the Open or be voted in by fans. In his third career start in the Open, Dillon is looking to make his first appearance in the All-Star Race.

All-Star Fan Vote

Dillon is eligible to be voted into the race via the Fan Vote. If Ty Dillon is your favorite driver, make sure that you’re voting every day at NASCAR.com/fanvote to guarantee that you’ll see the GEICO Military Camaro ZL1 in the All-Star Race.

Fans can vote once per day, and votes shared on Facebook or Twitter count double. To join the conversation on social media, use the hashtags #AllStarRace and #FanVote. Polls close on Friday, May 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Dillon Weekend Chatter

How will the GEICO Racing team prepare for All-Star Race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway?

“Everyone at Germain Racing is preparing for the All-Star Race weekend in the same way that they do every other weekend. There are some new areo elements this weekend that we will have to adjust to, but we’re not going to let the “all star” element of the weekend get in our heads and mess with our focus. We are taking a GEICO Military Camaro ZL1 to the track that we’re confident can race its way into the main event. We can also be voted in, but we have the same motivation and intentions that we do each and every weekend. We are in it to win it.”
