The season finale may be within sight, but the Germain Racing team isn’t slowing down. Before Ty Dillon heads down to Homestead Miami Speedway with his No. 13 GEICO Camaro ZL1, the team is working as hard as they have all year to finish out the season strong. Having built solid momentum over the past month, Dillon is looking to capitalize in the finale race to keep the excitement rolling through the off-season to prepare for 2019.
This will be Dillon’s fourth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at Homestead Miami Speedway. In his previous races, Dillon earned his best finish of 23rd place in 2015. He was running in the 17th position with the GEICO Racing team in the closing laps of the 2017 event, but he suffered a blown right tire with three laps to go and was relegated to a 26th-place finish.
Dillon has four previous NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Homestead, earning one top-five and three top-10 finishes. With an average start of 14.8 and an average finish of 7.5, his best finish came when he earned the runner up spot in 2016. Dillon has four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his name at the intermediate track. He has earned two top-10 finishes, the best of which was a sixth-place finish in 2011.

What are your thoughts on Homestead Miami Speedway?
“Homestead is fun. It’s one of the tracks that every driver looks forward to because the surface is wearing out so much and it makes the tires fall off quickly. That makes it very exciting and challenging for us as drivers. The racing groove goes all the way from the yellow line to the wall. It gives drivers options to move around the track and find what works for their car. If you have a strong car, you can do a lot of good things out there. We’re definitely going to have a strong GEICO Camaro ZL1 with us.”
Sunday morning, Dillon can be found in the fan midway with the GEICO Gecko! He will be at the GEICO display to get race day started by answering fan questions, taking photos, signing autographs and more!
