Quick Takes...
Three years later, Todd's NASCAR career began. In 1986, he drove a single Busch Series race for Tom Pistone at Martinsville Speedway. Todd was 22. At age 26, he ran in another eight races for owner Ted Conder. Those eight opened the door for a contract to drive for Frank Cicci in 1991, his first full year of NASCAR competition, driving in the Busch Series.
Bodine captured the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship in 2006. He earned the title in just his second full season of NCTS competition. The championship was a first for his family, Germain Racing and Toyota.
Currently Bodine is the driver of the #30 Lumber Liquidators Toyota Tundra in the Truck Series. When he gets the chance, he races a Toyota Camry in select Nationwide Series events for Germain Racing.
The Germain Racing/Bodine relationship began with the team's first race in 2004. Then crew chief Mike Hillman Sr. tapped Todd Bodine as the driver to race in the team's first race at Richmond International Raceway. In Germain's one and only Tundra, "Sharon," Bodine qualified 3rd and finished 4th. He went on to capture the team's first win at California Speedway in September, 2004 and the second win in Texas later that fall.
Entering the 2008 season, Bodine, who has finished in the top-five in Truck Series points three years in a row. He started the 2008 championship chase with twelve wins, three pole positions, 39 top-five and 57 top-ten finishes in 90 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts. Bodine, who has competed in the Nationwide Series every year since 1990, has also collected 15 wins, 7 poles, 89 top-five and 159 top-ten finishes in the NASCAR second-tier series. Bodine has 228 career starts with 21 top-ten and 7 top-five finishes in NASCAR's premier division, Sprint Cup Series.
